Junior Research Fellow in biomedical applications specifically covering 3D bioprinting using bioprinters.


Accreate Labs is a recipient of a funded research engagement which involves synthesising required silk fibroin solution, bioprinting 3D scaffolds based on silk fibroin and invitro and invivo evaluation of the bio constructs. These are for maxilla facial applications. This project is led by University of Mysore, JSS Dental College & Hospital is the clinical partner, while Accreate Labs is the novel bioink synthesis, 3D bioprinting and design partner.

Area of Work Mandatory Experience
  • Working and theoretical knowledge of bioinks and their behaviour
  • Advice internal team on desired characteristics of silk fibrin solution, test and provide feedback on changes required
  • Understand crystalline nature and its impact on bioprinting, analyse change in behaviour as blend evolves
  • Test behaviour of solution in bioprinting
  • Must have worked on extrusion based and more contemporary Cellink bioprinting technology
  • Must have worked on extrusion based and more contemporary Cellink bioprinting technology
  • Trained by OEM on operating the bioprinting technology
  • Design experience of simple 3d constructs, use of slicer software appropriate for bioprinter used

Use novel synthesised silk fibroin bioink to bioprint in vitro models

  • Trained and certified bio-synthesis expert
  • Prepared biomaterials for use with bioinks
  • Evaluate in vitro 3D models for viability
  • Analyse structural strength and perform required tests

Assist in results interpretation, corelate materials tests with required mechanical strengths of bioproducts planned

Bioprint 3D scaffolds and models, develop blend to make it fit for 3D bioprinting for the technology available and for intended applications

  • Bioprinting using Cellink technology covering ink+ and lumenX
  • Support complete end to end process, test analysis

Support process, quality and documentation

Prior project experience would be preferred
